Lets Take a Look Back at 2011

Here is a little video that I put together with a few photos and video clips of my life in 2011. It really was a wonderful year!

Food Friday {Zuppa Toscana}

So I decided to do a food friday post every Friday starting a couple months ago. Life happened and I became busy with school so I only was able to do food Friday a couple of times. So here is a new Food Friday post. I'm not going to promise anything about doing this every week since I will be becoming extremely busy in the next few months but I am really going to try. Anyways... This soup is very delicious. I very much recommend trying it!

Olive Garden® Zuppa Toscana

1 lb ground Italian sausage
1½ tsp crushed red peppers
1 large diced white onion
4 Tbsp bacon pieces
2 tsp garlic puree
10 cups water
5 cubes of chicken bouillon
1 cup heavy cream
1 lb sliced Russet potatoes, or about 3 large potatoes
¼ of a bunch of kale

Sauté Italian sausage and crushed red pepper in a large pot. Drain excess fat, refrigerate while you prepare other ingredients.  In the same pan, sauté bacon, onions and garlic over low-medium heat for approximately 15 mins. or until the onions are soft. Add chicken bouillon and water to the pot and heat until it starts to boil.  Add the sliced potatoes and cook until soft, about half an hour. Add the heavy cream and just cook until thoroughly heated.
Stir in the sausage and the kale, let all heat through and serve. Delicious!

What Are You Doing New Years Eve?

Love Zooey Deschanel and Joe Gordon Levitt

Any fun plans for New Years Eve? I have a few plans up my sleeve and I am hoping it becomes an Epicly awesome New Years Eve.

Cowboy Cupcakes

I made these cupcakes for a cowboy themed baby shower for one of my best friends, Cheyenne. I seriously can't believe she is having a baby. She is having a little boy, due in just a few short weeks. She is the first of my friends to have a baby and I am so excited for her. I am also very excited that I live here in town close to her so I can go visit her and the baby all the time! I wish I could have gotten a photo of the shower but I didn't get a chance too. But here are some pictures of the cupcakes I made.
I did a white cake with chocolate frosting and a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. On the red velvet cupcakes I made chocolate dipped strawberries to add to the top and on some I just drizzled chocolate over the frosting. For the white cake I made these cupcake toppers by printing out the "It's a boy" sign and cutting them out. I also used scrapbook embellishments to for the cowboy hats and boots. Once again I had a blast creating these cute little things.

Movies Lately

So basically I have been watching a lot of movies lately... and I have been wanting to watch more movies. Three movies in particular were really great to me so I thought I would share them with you. All three are pretty popular so you have most likely seen them but if you haven't I would recommend watching them. Here's the list.

1. It's a wonderful life
I know this is a classic Christmas movie but I just decided it is definitely one of my favorite Christmas movies. I love old movies and it is definitely one of those and it has a pretty good Christmas message.

2. MI4 Ghost Protocol

My family and I went to this movie in Imax on Monday. I absolutely loved it. I normally don't like action movies that much but this one was awesome. It really kept me interested the entire time. It was pretty intense in many parts of the movie. It was also  a pretty family friendly clean movie.

3. The Help

I saw this for the first time Yesterday. I have been wanting to see it ever since it came out in theaters but I never got a chance to. It really was a great movie about "The Help" in the south during the 1960's. It's based on the book "The Help" and now I really want to read the book. I loved the movie and it could be on the list of my top favorite movies now.

Scenes from Christmas

Christmas is my favorite holiday and it's very sad to see it go. This year it was a great one as usual. Here are some scenes from our wonderful Christmas.

Christmas Eve we went on our annual Christmas light drive. We saw many great houses with great Christmas lights. This was a house that had amazing lights. Literally the whole front yard was covered.
Mom, Jordan, and I in the car looking at Christmas lights.
The yard that was literally covered in lights. It was amazing.
For Christmas Jordan got a new gun. We went and took it out shooting. I also got a pair of Ray Ban's :)
Christmas was wonderful! I received so many lovely gifts. I am so grateful for my family and friends for making Christmas a great day.

I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! Our Christmas has been great so far and I hope everyone else's has been too! Here is the family Christmas Card we sent out.

Family Christmas Party

We used to have a Family Christmas Party with my moms side of the family every year. A few years back we stopped because everyones families had grown so big. This year we decided to get the family all together and have our Family Christmas Party! It was so much fun. We always have a blast and laugh so much! We started the evening off with eating delicious soups and treats that everyone made. The little kiddos then played a few games. We then had our Christmas talent show where all the kids showed off their musical, dancing, hula hooping skills, and basketball skills. Mariah, Melissa, Natalie and Myself decided to show off our talent of singing and performing. We had a blast preparing it, especially our outfits(pictures soon to come). There was then a live Nativity that the kids put on. There was then more games and a Cake Walk that I made the cupcakes for and helped run. Here are the pics from the evening. Enjoy!
My Cousins cute kiddos
The Nativity that the kids put together. Noah the one on the far right sang the First Noel at the end and it was so darling.
The Cake Walk. We played some Beach Boys Christmas music and while the kids did the cake walk Allysa and I danced on the side.

Christmas Treats

On Thursday we had a girls day with my mom, sister, cousins, and Aunt. We spent the day shopping, making Christmas treats, eating, and coming up with a talent to perform at our Family Christmas Party. We laughed a lot and had a blast. Here are some of the treats we made. I decorated Christmas sugar cookies, made muddie buddies, Oreo truffles, and chocolate dipped pretzels. I love to be in the kitchen so it truly was a blast to bake all these yummy foods. I then made the rudolf and christmas cupcakes to take to our family Christmas party. I used a new recipe for the frosting this time and I thought they turned out great! I really loved doing them. Hope you made some delicious Christmas treats!

Home for the Holidays

This is our beautiful old fashion country Christmas tree.

I made it home for Christmas! There is nothing better then being home for the holidays. I love the decorations my mom puts up, the old fashion Christmas music playing, and the smell of baking throughout my house. I am so excited for Christmas and New Years.

Look! I graduated from college! I still can't believe it. I graduated with a bachelors of science in Family and Consumer Sciences Education from Brigham Young University-Idaho. I was actually really sad to leave Rexburg...Mainly to leave all my friends and to leave the college life. I am now all moved back to good old Eagle and I could not be happier to live in such a great place with all my family so close. Now I am onto the next step in my life of finding a real life job. It scares me a little bit but I know everything will work out great! I start student teaching the first week of January and then I will try finding a job from there. It's a very exciting and nervous time.

Many of you don't know my love for Jimmy Fallon! I watch his show every single day. Its a pretty hilarious show. Here is a funny christmas clip from his show on Friday. It gave me a little laugh during this stressful week. Enjoy.

Also. Guess what??? Two of my favorite Celebs will be on SNL at the same time this month...They will both be on SNL December 17th! Jimmy Fallon is hosting and Michael Buble will be the musical guest. I seriously can't wait. This will be a very happy day for me because it is the day I graduate, family will be in town, and then a great christmas episode of SNL. I don't think the day could get any better. Who's excited for next Saturday? I know I am!

And November Flew By...

Wow! I seriously can't believe that its December already. November could have been one of the  busiest months of my life, so I am a little happy that its over. School has taken over my life lately and I don't do much but that. Well I guess I have done a few other things. Check it out.

On a wonderful Sunday afternoon we made some delicious cinnamon Rolls!

These BSU cupcakes I made for a Tailgate party that we had. These were a blast to make!

Rollin in the Christmas holiday with a peppermint chocolate roll. I found this recipe on Pinterest. It was the first time I have attempted to do a roll and it didn't turn out too bad. Definitely needs some work. At least it tasted delicious!

I taught a demonstration on decorating cupcakes this week and these were some of my finished products. I really enjoyed teaching this and I really love making cupcakes as you might be able to tell.

Well you might be able to see what I really love to do in my spare time and that is Bake! When time allows it's what I truly love to do. Hopefully December leaves me more time to Bake.
